Food

 

David changes his menus quarterly, with the seasons.  On each, he’ll always have a good choice of starters and lighter bites, grazing boards and main courses as well as home-made desserts. 

 

Hearty pub classics, such as rare breed pork sausages with mash and caramelised red onion gravy and battered catch of the day with hand-cut chips, peas and tartar sauce, sit happily alongside pan fried seasonal fish dishes, great steaks and burgers.  Traditional Coq-au-vin with pearl onions, button mushrooms and pancetta served with silky mash, buttered curly kale and braising juices and confit Devon duck leg with Toulouse sausage, haricot bean cassoulet and wilted spinach are just two of the dishes that are proving popular for winter.

 

Desserts are all delectable and all home-made, with favourites like seasonal fruit crumbles and jellies, rich chocolate mousses and local ice creams, followed by artisan British cheeses, to choose from.

 

Children are heartily welcomed and can enjoy small or simplified versions of anything on the menu – just ask David.

 

Join us for lunch from 12 noon to 3pm and dinner from 6pm to 10pm Monday to Saturday. We also have a full menu all day on Sunday from 12 noon until 6pm, including our fabulous Sunday roasts.
